Cold air hot liquid thermal shock
One of our specialities are thermal shocks with exchangers. We are experts testing radiators with real behaviour: hot coolant flows inside the sample while cold external air goes through the core. This specific test fulfils the requirements of Volkswagen TL874 specification.
Test is achieved using a climatic chamber with hot/cold generator test bench connected, a coolant circulator providing the liquid to radiator, a PLC control system that allows us to program the cycles as customer demands and a data acquisition system (DAQ). Coolant reaches 150ºC, 2,6 bar and 3600 l/h while cold external air could keep cooling the chamber at -15 ºC. We are able to set the fans at variable velocities.
Thermographic videos can be recorded in order to understand leakages, thermal and mechanical behaviours. This information could be useful to improve the design of tested samples.
